The maps below illustrates the transformation of an island from 1980 to the present.

Overall, it can be seen that the island has been modernized and turned into tourist resolt, with new facilities such as apartments, swimming pool, diving school, shops and restaurants.

In 1980, the island was very ordinary. There was a reception in the middle and a restaurant to the north of it. A few small huts for accommodation were located on the west and east side. Citizens could walk between the buildings using footpaths, and there was a pier in the south where boats could stop for sailing. There were no roads or modern facilities at that time.

However , there has been added a lot of new facilities and modern apartments , making the area look more like a tourist resolt. At present , there are moreplaces to stay , such as apartments on the east side of the city.Also , a large swimming pool has been built at the centre of the city. On the north coast, people can go surfing or diving, and the beach on the west is still used for relaxing.

In conclusion ,the island has changed from a quiet natural place into a busy tourist resort with many new facilities and activities for visitors.
