At present, the town center is encircled by a ring road, being separated from the built-up area, where residential and commercial buildings are situated. The ring road is adjacent to the A1 route on the west, with Brampton road, below which the railway station is located. The airfield is lied to the north side and can be accessed via the A1 road from which the A14 road runs from west to east across the map. Additionally, the railway trail heads from south to north-east.

In the future, the area is planned to improve its traffic infrastructure. The ring road around the town center is expected to remain unchanged, though it will be linked to the A1 road with the A14 route from the south, which is planned to be shortened and rerouted in the coming years. Furthermore, a roundabout will be added in the middle of Brampton road, connecting the A1 and town center. The airfield on the north side is going to be transformed into an Industrial estate.
