The provided images depict the present layout of Huntingdon and its proposed transformations in the future.
Overall, the town will undergo massive changes from a relatively simple urban configuration to a much more connected and industrialized one. The key modifications include the construction of more roads and replacement of some facilities.
Regarding the west side of the town, which expands westwards from the railway. At present, there is a main road called A1 that connects the northern and southern end of this region. This road meets with another, which extends from northwest to southeast, in a roundabout near the northern quadrant of the map. An airfield is erected to the east of the A1 road, linked by a small lane that extends from the road. It is notable that the railway runs from the northeastern corner of the plan, bends southwards at the lower end of the map before it encounters a railway station. In the future, while most of the regions will remain unchanged, the airfield will be replaced by an industrial estate, which will be connected with the railway by two other railways, and there is going to be a freshly added road called A14 in the south of the region, expanding eastwards.
Concerning the other side of the map, the present plan of the town involves the town center near the southeastern corner, which is encircled by a ring road, from which the Brampton Road extends westwards to the A1 road. Right to the north of the town center lies a built-up area that includes homes, shops, and other amenities. In the future, there will be a newly erected roundabout where the northwest-southeast road meets the Brampton Road. Strikingly, the built-up complex will retain its current location in the future plan.
