Overall, it is evident that the town witnessed dramatic changes over the period, the most noticeable of which was the demolition of all industrial facilities, the change of residential accommodation, and the development of recreational and commercial facilities.
Regarding the North side of the former Bayley Street, the most considerable change in the area was the presence of mansions that were back terraced houses in 1990. Subsequently, the terraced houses in the west of the picture which replaced with flats erected in 2021. Additionally, the alteration of recreational facilities were parks and children’s play areas.
From 1990 to 2021, the flattening of a factory, railway workers’ cottages, and railway line to make way for the renovation of shops increased from a shop to three shops on the bottom right-hand corner of the 2021 map. New Lane was built for the residents to go to three shops. Moreover, the coffee shop and the laundry were relocated slightly, and they constructed the road to connect the street to those.
