The maps illustrate some developments that occurred in the town of Lakeside during a nine-year period from 2000 to 2009.
Overall the town of Lakeside experienced considerable developments during the period shown. The most noticeable differences between the two maps are the expansion of the industrial complex in the southeast and the establishment of a university in the north.
The housing area located in the northwest in 2000, remained unchanged throughout the period. A university was constructed next to this area in 2019. In the west of the town, the arts center was knocked down to build a multi-screen cinema building. The school located next to the cinema was relocated slightly closer to the river. Furthermore, the residential area which was situated below the arts center and school in 2000 was converted into a shopping center in 2009.
On the other hand, the southeast experienced a prominent change. The woodland was cut down and the housing area was demolished for the expansion of the industrial complex. Moreover, the lake which lay in the north of the woodland was narrowed and became a pond in 2009.
