The maps display the alterations to Langley town between 1910 and 1950. Overall, town was changed notabily with residential, commercial, recreational, and industrial alterations.
In 1910, Longley was developing town. In the left side of the area, townhouses located on two sides of Jordan Street. On top of the map, factory was located and next to it there was a wasteland. In the centre of the land, between residential cottages, Sherman Street passed. In the end of the street, there were commercial facilities such as café, store and laundry. On the bottom of the illustration, industrial infrastructures was erected, railway line, railway workersʼ cottages and had wasteland.
In 1950, map had some differentiates as opposed to previous one. Instead of townhouses, block of flats were put up. Streets didnʼt change and added another street line which was New Lane. Factory was destroyed and built mansions. Laundry and café were relocated and number of stores were multiplied. Stores location moved to right bottom corner of area. Residential houses which were located on two sides of Sherman Street were demolished. Railway line and workers houses were also destroyed. Instead of these, recreated park and childrenʼs playground.
