The illustration depicts the layout of a city in 1950 and the present.
Overall, there are several changes taken place in the city, including the construction of a new major road and two government buildings, the extension of residential areas, as well as changes made to some natural features. Additionally, with the development of the layout, the city’s population exhibited significant growth.
Regarding the North region of the former river, in 1950, there were three different major roads that led to the central areas, which were the business district. In the present, the roads are now connected, forming a junction in the centre. Meanwhile, the Residential area is now expanded, which surrounds the whole business district. Part of the river is also converted into a lake, with two bridges that link two separated parts of the city.
On the South side of the latter Lake, new major roads are constructed, creating a crossroad in the developed residential settlements. There used to be only one government building that was alongside the former river; however, currently, a larger Government building has been built to the Southeast of the intersection. A dam was also erected, which is situated to the West of an extended airport.
