The maps illustrate the changes that took place between 1936 and 2007 in a town called Harborne.
Overall, the North-West and the East-North underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most significant of which are the decreasing of trees for the former and the replacing for the latter.
In the North-West, most of trees were disappeared while the cycle path was transformed to the road for demand of residents in the West-South. In the center, post office, library and bank were still remained. Besides that, shopping center was constructed on the open space. Both sweet shop and butchers were changed to supermarket which was used for citizen’s using. Moreover, flower shop was vanished and travel agent was built to replace.
Take a closer look to the North-East, there has been residential was be added, replacing the river. The East-South saw a figure of changes, with Government offices being turned into museum and land farm being converted into golf course to make sure they were suitable for visitors and businesses.
