The diagrams illustrate how the library of a particular city changes since 2005. Overall, the library underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most important of which are the development a dedicated spaces, and technology equipments, and new facilities to better serve students.
In the north-west, there used to be a L-shaped bookshelves but while the bookshelves at the north edge remain stable, the left-hand one then has been transformed to automated book borrowing systems at the present. In the center of the university library, study tables and book borrowing and returns now have been converted into large, separate study desks, providing a focused and engaged environment for study.
The right part of the library also witnessed the significant number of developments. The previous computers and library office areas have been replaced with desks for student’s personal laptops catering for the increasing demand for personal technology use. Additionally, the bookshelves at the bottom of the map also have been transformed into these new desk areas.
