The maps demonstrate the varied structures of Pentland from 1980 to 2007.
Talking about the North-West area of Pentland, we can observe that the industral area in Pentland was removed and a multi-storey car park was built at the very North-West corner of the map. Moreover, a multi-storey car park was constructed at the west edge of Pentland with a swimming pool horizontal to it. On top of that, various shops were arranged along the cross road. In terms of the North-East part of Pentland, some partments were established long the coast of yacht marina which is the new name of the sea in the old map. In addition, a number of shops were arranged along the cross roads which was constructed and remained since 1980.
With repect to the South-West region, a trapezium-shaped and a shopping block were built along the edge of the road. As regards the South-East area, it was halved horizontally, with a large number of housings placed along the edges of the newly constructed road. Furthermore, there are three shooping blocks established along the north wall of the region.
In a nutshell, every regions of Pentland experienced a significant variation except the sea and the cross road. In addition, it is noticeable that the number of shops increased the most within the region.
