The maps illustrate the Liverton docks in1980 and as it is now after some changes have been done.
Overall, the port became more recreational and human-friendly by replacements and redevelopments.
In1980, there used to have three cranes in total that located in two sides of the river which were, however, removed later on. Similarly, the harbor had three warehouses, 2 On the northern side of the area and one in south part. Ships used to sail on river.
Following the renovations, every detail has changed. Starting with warehouses, the one on the north-west of the port has been replaced by educational institution. However, the remained two have been removed and new buildings near their zones have been built. On the north side of the harbor, there are some new recreational facilities such as sailing club and kid’s playground. As for the south, there is a hotel in the west-south, taking over the place of the crane. Nevertheless, apartment blocks and parking area are newly constructed buildings. In terms of river, ships were no longer in use. Instead, they have built a ship museum. In addition, there are also a flood barrier and a bridge for safety. River walk has also been added along the river side, starting from the hotel to the parking area.
