The images outline the layout of the town called Fosbury between 1980 and 2015.
Looking from an overall perspective, the town witnessed significant changes, being altered from a residential zone to a more developed urban area. It is also worth pointing out that the town became more built-up with the construction of state-of-the-art amenities. Some of the original features were not subject to change, but the infrastructure of the town was generally enhanced.
In detail, the town was an agricultural and residential area by 1980. There was a straight road which separated the town into 2 sides. In the western side, there were houses in the north side of it, with a park in the west, surrounded by several roads. Tennis courts could be found in the south-east side of the town. Focusing on the eastern part, fields occupied most of the space, especially in the south. To the north, there were a block of flats, Grocer’s shop and a hotel next to each other. Terraced houses could be found in the north-east corner.
By 2015, the town had undergone major developments. The road, which was used to divide the town, had been changed to a circular one. In the west part, the houses remained unaltered, while the park had been relocated to an empty space in the western side, since new houses had been constructed in the park’s previous location. A new sports center and car park had been built to the expense of the tennis courts. Looking at the eastern side of the town, the fields had been erased, and new warehouses had been constructed to the expense of them. The hotel remained unchanged, with Grocer’s shop and the block of flats being demolished. The terraced houses had been knocked down in order to build a car park and a supermarket.
