The maps demonstrate how the suburb of Fosbury was developed in 1980 and 2015.
Overall, this area underwent fundamental changes, the most important of which are the addition of more amenities and the enhancement of the infrastructure of the town.
In 1980, the residential houses remained unchanged while the terraced houses were relocated on the spot where it used to be the park. Furthermore, it is important to note that a large roundabout was erected leading to the demolition of the block of flats.
On the commercial side, the grocer’s shop was knocked down while the supermarket was constructed in place of the terraced houses. Two car parks were built above the supermarket and next to the new sports center.
Another noticeable change is the erection of the park in place of an empty area nearby. The tennis courts were flattened to be converted into sports center. Lastly, new warehouses were built at the expense of the fields.
