The two maps show the changes in the outskirts of Fosbury between 1980 and 2015.
In 1980, the area was more rural with open fields and limited infrastructure. There were a few key buildings including a hotel, a grocer’s shop, a block of flats, terraced houses, a park, and tennis courts. A large portion of the land was occupied by green fields, and the road network was simple, consisting mainly of straight roads.
By 2015, the area had been significantly urbanised. The fields had been replaced by a large roundabout surrounded by modern infrastructure. The grocer’s shop and block of flats were removed, making way for a supermarket and car park. Additionally, warehouses and a new sports centre were built in the southern area, where the tennis courts used to be. Another car park was added in the southeast. The park remained but was slightly relocated and reshaped. The terraced houses and hotel still existed, but the hotel appeared to have been modernised.
