The two maps illustrate the changes that have occurred in the library since 2000. Overall, the library has undergone major transformation, with several sections enlarged, most relocated, and only a few remaining unchanged. Notable developments include the addition of café and seating area to enhance visitor experience and engagement.
In 2000, the library offered relatively limited facilities. The entrance was located on the left-hand side, with travel and new books sections positioned directly opposite it. The service desk was situated on the bottom-left corner, while the two large fiction sections occupied the entire upper part of the library. The non-section area placed along the bottom, and books related to art, hobbies, and cookery were displayed in the central section.
Since then, the library’s layout has been significantly redesigned. The entrance, travel section, new books area, and service desk have remained in their original positions. A major change is the relocation and expansion of art, hobbies and cookery sections, now occupying the upper-part of the library. Meanwhile, the fiction section has been reduced in size and moved next to the cookery books. The former location of one of the fiction sections has been replaced by a non-fiction area, while the previous non-fiction zone now accommodates a newly introduced café, adding to the library’s appeal. Another notable improvement is the installation of tables and seating areas in the center, designed to make environment more comfortable and inviting for visitors.
