First, we are going to analyse the period between 1989 and 1996. People who came to meet friends had a constant growth started at approximately 3,5 millions visitors in 1989 to almost 5 millions n 1996. A significant increase but not as big as people who came for holiday which knew a peak at 9 millions in 1996. Over this severely increase, millions of people who came for business fluctuated with a down and bounced back at 6 millions in 1996.
After 1996 to 2009, people who came for holiday dramatically plummeted at 6,5 millions in 2004 while the meeting friends area continued growing constantly to reach a peak at 7 millions in 2008. Concerning business visitors, the evolution grew sharply to a peak of 8 millions in 2008. Finally, the holiday area rebounded and grew to 9 millions in 2009, at the highest point of the graph.
