From an overall perspective, there are 6 countries present in the table which include Slovakia, Italy, France, Austria, Spain, and Greece, and a sector which shows overall EU average. Compared to other countries Slovakia consumes the most of the fuel compared to other countries.
Perspectively, the first country in the table is Slovakia, which uses about 8.9% of fuel in transport in the year 2009, and in 2010 the percentage dropped to 6.5% overall. Moving forward, Italy is the second country depicted on the table, and it consumed about 4.5 percent of fuel in 2009, but in 2010 the percentage increased to 5.1%. Furthermore, we can observe France as the third country, which used about 3.8% fuel in transportation in 2009, while in 2010 consumption increased to 4.2%. In fourth position, there stands Austria, which is the only country that maintained its consumption of fuel throughout the years 2009 and 2010, at 5.1%.
However, in Spain, the usage of fuel in transportation appears to be 3.9% in 2009; in contrast, the year 2010 shows a decrease in the usage of fuel which is at 3%. Greece is the only country that consumed fuel under 2%; in 2009, the table depicts consumption of fuel at 1.1%, while in 2010 it increased to 2%. Coherently, the average consumption of fuel in the transport sector in the EU between 2009-2010 was 6% and 5%.
