The bar chart illustrates the proportion of women and men executives in six different professions throughout the UK in 2007.
Overall, construction was the most demanding profession among male workers and, while the lowest one comprised health and social work. Interestingly, health and social work were the highest proportion of female workers and construction was the lowest one. In addition, both men and women employees showed the same proportion in wholesale and retail trade.
Male employees are more interested in construction with about 90%, whereas the females are just only approximately 12% . However, health and social work accounted for the most popular among women workers at 80% and men workers percentage for this profession made up 20% respectively. Wholesale and retail trade were in demand of both sex workers with approximately 50%.
Public administration & defence and education professions showed almost the same trend with comprising 40% and around 30% in male and 60% and 70% in female employees respectively. In contrast, these professions were mostly interesting to women executives. Manufacturing which was mostly popular for male workers with around 70%, while for females it made up about 30%.
