The given chart illustrates the information about the ratio of people living in cities, towns, and rural areas in Australian in 1995 and 2010, in terms of those Australia born and those born elsewhere.
Overall, it is clear that living in city is by far common for both groups of people in both 1995 and 2010. Furthermore, the percentage of people living in the cities increased over period.
In 1995, around 50 % of people born in Australia live in a city. Meanwhile, nearly20% of people born in Australia lived in a town, compared with 30% people living in rural areas.15 years later, more than 65% of Australia born lived in a city, while the ratio of those who born in Australia living in towns and rural areas dropped to a little over 15% each.
On the other hand, the segment of people who born elsewhere that lived in cities was around 60% in 1995, and had increased to approximately 80% in 2010. Notably, a significant portion of those who wasn’t born in Australia lived in rural areas in 1995 about 40 %, however this percentage plummeted in 2010 to around 5%
