The given chart illustrates the shares of men and women in different categories (service and transport, agriculture, business, manufacturing, building, and social service) between 1993 and 2003.
Overall, as can be seen from the table, while services and transport had the most share of women labors in both 1993 and 2003, men working in agriculture in 1993 was highest in 6 industries but it dropped significantly in2003.
Regarding the proportions of the women workforce, Manufacturing and services and transport had the highest shares of female workers ( 25% and 53% ) while other categories’ statistics were ranging from 0% to 13%. In addition, the shares of women workforce had different extents of increase in the participation of them in business ( 1% to 22% ), building ( 0% to 6% ), social services( 13% to 18% ). In contrast, decreases were prominent in the rates of female working in other sectors, with a drop from 53% to 36% in services and transport, 8% to 6% in agriculture, and 25% to 12% in manufacturing.
Concerning the men labours’ shares, a noticeable rise were seen in service and transport and business, in which the proportion grew significantly from 22% to 31% and 7% to 25%, respectively. Moderate increases also occurred in manufacturing and social services (16% to 17% and 5% to 9%). On the other hand, male labours experienced a downward trend in other industries: agriculture (38% to 8%), building (12% to 10%).
