The graphical diagram illustrates a straightforward plan to evacuate people from the basement of Gillespie Neuroscience Research Facility in times of emergency.
Overall, this plan is designed to make it easily understandable for the general public. This design plan includes the locations of two stairways, three routes of exit, an elevator, and the exact positions of the fire hose and fire alarm, if any.
The plan consists of three exit routes. If one is at the marked location, he/she can easily exit the building using the closest stairway named stair 2. However, if this path is inaccessible during an emergency, there are two alternative paths. One exit is at the end of the long corridor marked as stair 1, and another is at the left of the same corridor. It is important to note that these stairs do not have access to the roof. While one may use the elevator beside stair 1 to exit quickly, it is strictly prohibited to use it during any fire emergency. Moreover, dialing 911 for the fire department should be done in the event of such an emergency.
