Overall, Finland dominated the graph from the beginning to the end, while the United Kingdom remained at the bottom the whole time.To start with, in 1971, Finland’s renewable energy use was about 25%, the highest among the countries. Moreover, Denmark’s was 15%, France’s around 8%, Germany’s nearly 5%, the USA’s 3%, and the UK’s approximately 2%. However, Finland faced some hiccups but ended at around 24% by 2011. Furthermore, in Denmark’s case, it increased a little, almost 17%.
In contrast, France saw a significant increase, rising from 8% to nearly 15%. Germany had a great increase as well, from 5% to nearly 14%. Apart from that, the USA’s renewable energy faced a dramatic increase, from 3% to around 18%. Lastly, the UK’s renewable energy use rose from 2% to almost 6% in 2011.
