The pie charts illustrate the changes of the native languages spoken by students at Bakersfield Senior College over a decade. The first chart shows the percentages in 1980, while the second one presents the data for 1990.

Overall, the most used languages are Urdu, Chinese and English, and their percentages changed, so they had some comparisons between those years. The percentage of Urdu speakers increased, and the percentage of English students decreased both moderately. In contrast, Chinese increased slightly, and other languages stayed unchanged, so their percentages were constant. Moreover, in 1990 English was the most spoken language.

Firstly, Urdu rose by 13%, from 15% in 1980, to 28% in 1990. Additionally, Chinese increased just 2%, from 9% in 1980 to 11% after one decade. The language of Urdu increased a lot between them.

Secondly, English was 70% in 1980, but that decreased to 55% in 1990, and it shows that decreased by 15%. Only the percentage of English speakers declined, but in 1990 English was the most spoken language. The percentage of other language’ remained at 9%, those languages were the least spoken by students.
