The pie chart illustrates the breakdown of various native languages spoken by students of Bakersfield Senior College in the years, 1980 and 1990.
It is evident that while the students speaking English remained the largest segment, other categories such as Urdu and Chinese language showed noticeable changes in the two years, while other languages remained unchanged, with their respective shares consistent across two seperate years.
English was the largest category in both the years, accounting for 70% in 1980 and 55% in 1990; however, it experienced a noticeable decline over the period. The proportion of other languages remainded unchanged throught the both years, maintaining a consistent share of 6%.
There was a dramatic rise in the share of Urdu language, which almost doubled from 15% in 1980 to 28% in 1990. The proportion of students speaking Chinese showed a gradual increase, climbing from 9% to 11% between 1980 and 1990, respectively.
