The pie charts elucidates the percentage of employed individuals in five different age groups in the UK in two years, 2015 and 2020.
Considering from an overall perspective, it can be apparently seen that those aged 21-30 and 41-50 increase in the employment rate, whereas the opposite trend can be observed for other age sectors. Noticeably, in 2015, the proportion of employees under 21 and 31-40 was the lowest in 2020.
To begin with, in 2015, there were 23% of working people over 50. However, this number dropped to 16% in 2020. A similar pattern can also be observed for the under 21 and 31-40 age groups, falling from 14% and 21% to about 12% and 11%, respectively.
Furthermore, the opposite was true for the 21-30 and 41-50 age categories. Those aged 21 to 30 had an employment rate of 23% in 2015, while it was 19% for 41-50-year-old individuals. These two figures surged considerably by approximately 10% in 2020.
