The pie charts depict the cultural and leisure activities of boys and girls, percentage-wise, as a result of a juvenile activities survey.
Overall, it is clear that girls are actively engaged in dancing, whereas boys are mostly involved in sports. In contrast, reading is common for both, as well as computer games and listening to music; however, it differs depending on gender.
As shown in the pie chart, dancing made up the largest percentage at 27%, whereas boys had almost the same proportion of 26% in basketball. Netball was the second leisure sport for girls and constituted 15%, and for boys, the most widely involved sport was soccer; it was 2% higher than for girls. Furthermore, female athletes were also involved in gymnastics, making up 11%, as well as boys having the same proportion for skateboarding.
The other three categories – listening to music, video games, and reading – were common for both. Girls relatively tend to read more books, by a contrast of 19% more than boys. While computer games accounted for 34% for boys, almost twice as much as for girls. Ultimately, listening to music constituted the same percentage of 10% for boys and girls.
