The pie charts illustrate the proportion from five sources of energy, namely coal, gas, petro, nuclear, and other in a European country between 1995 and 2005.
Overall, the percentage from almost all types of energy production in Europe experienced upward trends, while petroleum showed a downtrend over the period.
Regarding the 1995 data, coal was the largest proportion of energy at 29.80%, which was followed by gas at 29.63% in the second rank, and petro at 29.27% in the third rank. Nuclear and other sources were lower at 6.40% and 4.90%, respectively.
Looking at 2005, the proportion of energy production presented a similar ranking with 1995. Furthermore, coal rose slightly to 30.93% and represented as a dominant. In the second highest, gas climbed sharply to 30.31%. Moreover, nuclear and the other sectors commenced a significant uptrend to almost double at 10.10% and 9.10% by 2005. In contrast, petroleum remained the only production that showed the downward trend to 19.55% during ten years.
