In 1987, the value of seafood imports was $7.40 million. The seafood from Poland accounted for over half of total seafood imports at 65%, followed by Sweden at 28%, and Germany at 7%. By the next year, the total value of imported sea food reached $9.10 million. The percentage of seafood imports from Sweden significantly increased to 40%, and Germany’s share rapidly rose to 25%, while the figures for Poland rapidly decreased to 35%.
In 2007, sea food from Sweden gradually went up to 43%, accounted for a significant portion of imports. In contrast, the figure for Poland slowly dropped to 30%, and the seafood from Germany made up the least at 27%. The value of sea food imports continued rose and reached $12.30 million.
