The pie chart illustrates the rate of surfers in different age demographics on three types of media platforms. Overall, the most participants in the board were recorded for 18-34-year-old surfers on Twitter. However, on the other platforms, it only placed as the second most used. Meanwhile, the 35-49-year-old surfers dominated the Facebook and YouTube apps. By contrast, the least common users of social media could be found in the oldest group.
Concerning the most used age groups, about 40% of Twitter surfers are aged from 18-34, while on Facebook and YouTube, it only accounted for 29% and 26%, respectively. On the other hand, Facebook users aged 35-49 accounted for 30%, whereas the proportion for both Twitter and YouTube in the same age group was identical, at just 29%.
Regarding the least consuming age groups, in descending order, YouTube consumers aged 50-64 made up 20%, followed by Facebook and Twitter, with their respective figures being 19% and 18%. In addition, the adolescent users of YouTube are minimally higher than Facebook by 1%, at 15%, and remarkably greater than Twitter by 6%. At the lowest level, the figure for the oldest demographic of YouTube users constituted 8%, which is double the figure for Twitter and 2% lower than that of Facebook consumers.
