In the world, the usage of water resources varies depends on places and the habitants of those places, some tend to have a high population density and therefore be used for residential purposes, some are more industrial focused and others rely on agriculture. The pie charts shows the water usage in San Diego County, California and the world, so what is so different from one another?
In the first one, it shows that more than 60 percent of San Diego’s water usage goes to residential purposes, while 17 percent is for agriculture and 23 percent for industry. These stastics clearly informs us that San Diego has a high pupulation density taking the majority of it’s space which will autmatically reflect on the water usage as more people that live in will be taking most of the water resources and little is left for other purposes.
However, in the second chart makes it clear that the State of California’s water usage is distributed like the following: 39 percent to residential areas, 33 to industrial areas and 28 goes to agriculture areas. This makes it clear that California is much larger than San Diego and has more space for different activities, as it’s residents mostly consume the water usage for their homes and the industry and also agriculture, the usage of the 3 sectors is not far apart and each sector gets what it needs.
The third chart, shows the water usage of the whole world, where we can visibly see that 69 percent goes to agriculture, 23 to industry and 8 percent to residential areas, and this makes perfect sense, that little area of residents consumes a lot of food and products that both require high demands of water usage and therefore it is different from small areas that were previously mentioned, as this covers the crucial need of all of the population on different resources and not souly on homes as other sectors tend to use more water.
