The following pie charts represent the consumption of energy from different sources across a decade in the UK.
Overall, the consumption of gas and coal have remained almost the same after a decade. The rise in usage of solar and other types of energy have led to a fall in usage of pertol.
In 2000, coal, gas and petrol had dominated the energy consumption, sharing approximate one third of the portion each, with coal being the most used. Solar and other types of energy consumption were very niche, they both share the lowest usage rate.
In 2010, coal and gas still hold the top 2 positions with a slight 0.5-1% increase. However, petrol usage has fallen down by 9%, which now contributes to the moderate rise in both solar and other energy sources.
