The pie charts illustrate the proportion of water used for six agricultural products and total income from the products in 2004.
Overall, livestock and rice are the sectors made up a minority in total income and amount of water used. While vegetables constituted a majority in the use of water, the highest income belonged to fruits.
In terms of the amount of water used in agriculture, vegetables accounted for a significant percentage of water used with 46%, which was nearly six times the figure for dairy. 28% was the proportion of water used by fruits, followed by cereals with 12%. There was a similarity in the percentage of water used by rice and livestock, which stood at the bottom at only 3%.
Regarding the total income of the products, although having made up a largest percentage, vegetables only stood at the second position at 33%, following the statistic for fruits with 42%. The proportion of water used for livestock, cereal and dairy was comparable to that of total income with 3%, 13% and 8%, respectively. Rice is the lowest-income product at only 1%, despite using three times as much water.
