The pie charts compare the several types of energy which are consumed in the UK between 2000 and 2010.
Overall, three kinds of energy that dominated the market were Coal, Gas, and Petrol. While the proportions of Coal and Gas stayed relatively stable, Petrol witnessed a large drop over the ten-year period.
In 2000, the usage of Coal occupied 30% of the whole country’s, followed by Gas and Petrol consumption, which were slightly lower by only 0.5% and 1% respectively. Solar energy’s share was 6.5%, and other types were contributed to 5% of the consumption.
Ten years later, the predominant kinds of energy in the UK remained the same, with a negligible increase in percentage of 1% for Coal and 0.5% for Gas. Conversely, petrol’s share substantially decreased from 29% to 20%, but still remained the third top kind of energy consumption. The popularity of solar and other kinds of energy were also increased gradually over time.
