The pie graphs compare the percentages of six main sources of energy in France and Germany in 2020.
Overall, France primarily relies on gas energy, while the major resource of Germany is the solar one. Additionally, petrol, coal, and unnamed sources produce the lowest amount of power in both the regions.
Regarding the three biggest energy productions, precisely 30% of power in France is supplied by gas, making it the highest one, compared to 25% of that in Germany. Conversely, the proportion of solar energy is the greatest, at around 28%, while its counterpart just accounts for a quarter, being second only to gas. Following these categories, the percentage of nuclear power remains at the third rank in both France and Germany, which is about 25% and 18%, respectively.
Concerning the remaining categories, those in France make up 2-4% lower than Germany, with 10% vs. 14% in petrol, and 7% vs. 10% in coal. Noticeably, the figure for unidentified ones represents single digit percentages in all the surveyed countries, with 5% in Germany, which is 2% higher than in France.
