The two pie charts compare the proportion of energy, by six sources, in Germany and France in 2020.
Both countries use gas, nuclear, and solar as their main energy sources, contributing to over half of their energy production.
Looking at the charts, 30% of France’s energy production came from the sun, 5% higher than Germany’s corresponding figure. In Germany, the most utilized energy source was gas, at 28%. In France, it was 25%. Additionally, the French also generate 25% of its energy from nuclear power, which was higher than Germany’s 18%.
As for the remaining sources, each of them contributed roughly the same in both countries. For petrol, France’s number was 4% lower than Germany’s, at 10%. It was the opposite for coal though when Germany’s 10% was greater than France’s 7%. Finally, the other less-known sources contributed a fraction to France and Germany’s energy generation, 3% and 5% respectively.
