This pie chart shows which type of transportation people chose in 2005 and in 2015 to go to work in Rockingham.
According to the chart, we can tell that driving one’s car was mainly preferred in both years, whereas people choosing to walk, instead, were the least percentage.
In 2005, 50% of people used their own car, followed by 25% who used a carpool. Traveling by bus was only chosen by 15% of the population, meanwhile, bicycle and walking were the least selected by people, only a 5% took these options. Something to observe is the fact that 10% of workers stayed at home along this period.
On the other hand, in 2015, there was a slight decrease in the percentage of people who use an individual car, even though it is still the most preferred option for these workers. The use of carpool was chosen by 20% of the population, while the percentage of people choosing the bus kept steady in both years. The choice of riding a bicycle increased slightly, chosen by 15% of the population, although the percentage of workers deciding to walk stayed the same, 5%. The percentage of people working at home rose by 5% in comparison with 2005.
