The two pie charts illustrate the percentages of individuals worked in five different job types in the United Kingdom in 1991 and 2001.
Overall, the other categories accounted for the largest share in both years, while the technicians and the service and sales experienced a noticeable increase over the period. In addition jobs in the managers and the professionals sector remained constant throughout the period.
In 1991, the other sectors made up the biggest share of jobs which was more than triple the figure for the managers and the professionals. By 2001, the proportion of the other jobs fell slightly but still overtaking other categories. Meanwhile, the employments in the managers and the professionals remained same in figures over the ten-year period.
The most substantial changes were seen in both the technicians and the service and sales, which increased one third in figure by the end of the 2001. In contrast, the technicians had the lowest share in both years.
