The pie charts give an insight into the number of tourists who visited Ireland last year, categorized by age groups, sex, types of visits.
Overall, people aged 45-54 and 25-34 made up the largest age groups among all visitors, together accounting for nearly a half of all the visitors. However, male visitors slightly exceeded female tourists in both business and leisure visits.
According to the first pie chart, people aged 45-54 and 25-34 were by far two of the largest groups, each of which has accounted for 23%, totaling at 46% among all the visitors. Following this, middle age tourists, aged 35-44, composed nearly the fifth of all the visits, standing at 19%. In contrast, other less common groups constituted for only a third of all the visits, together totaling at 35%.
Regarding the second pie chart, leisure visit figures were significantly higher compared to those of business visits. The number of men visitors were slightly higher than that of women for both business and leisure visits, with male visitors making up 43% and 40% for female for leisure visits. In addition, there was a notable gap between female and male vistors among all the business visits last year.
