The data demonstrates the variation of public school’s total annual spendings in Canada among three decades(1990,2000,2010).
Overall, it is clear that in all three years about a half of the spendings was spent for teacher’s salaries, whereas the proportion of spendings for technology saw the lowest rate.
Initially, the percentage of teacher’s salaries was the highest among other categories with about 50 percent in all three decades. On the other hand the fraction of spendings on technology was the lowest with only about 5-10 percent.
Moreover, the budget which was spent on facilities and maintenance was in the second place after teacher’s salaries with around 20 percent. In contrast the “other” category remained essentially unchanged. It is also clear that, the facilities and maintenance’s and technology’s portions had a decline before increasing, however the “other” category’s and teacher’s salaries percents had the reverse rate.Another interesting point is that the proportion of learning resources, books remined complitaly unchanged over the period.
