The pie charts provides information on the changes of yearly expanses of a Canadian public school in three different years: 1990, 2000, and 2010.
Overall, it is clear that the biggest shares were for salaries of teachers in all given years. In the beginning of the period, less money was spent on facilities & maintenance, and technology, however, they gained ground eventually. Meanwhile, the amount of money spent on learning resources remained unchanged.
To begin with the teacher’s salaries, it represented over a half of total annual school expanses in 1990, by the time, it has reduced to 50% in 2000, and 45% in 2010. Facilities and maintenance, on the other hand, had smaller percentages in the first years before reaching to a quarter in 2010. Similarly, the technology also experienced a noticeable increase, starting with just 5% in 1990, and reaching to 12% during two decades.
In terms of the funding for other spendings, this trend saw a remarkable change, decreasing almost twofold (from 15% to 8%). Finally, the proportion of money for learning resources, like books maintained stable at 10 % throughout the period
