In 2015, streaming accounted for 32% of music listening, making it the most popular option. Terrestrial and satellite radio followed at 26%, while digital downloads represented 23%. Physical formats were used by 12% of listeners, and only 7% relied on other methods.
By 2017, the share of streaming had increased significantly to 41%. In contrast, radio usage fell slightly to 24%, and digital downloads dropped sharply to 14%. Physical formats declined to 10%, while the proportion of other methods rose modestly to 11%.
