The pie charts present the information on the proportion of travelers of various age ranges going to Canada from America in a 20-year period from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, there was mass tourism among young adults and seniors in 2020, whereas the middle-aged class found it less popular to visit Canada.
Regarding the upward trend, a population of kids and teenagers traveling to Canada increased by 2% by 2020, followed by the significant rise in tourists of young adults from 4% in 2000 to 15% in 2020. Meanwhile, the elderly travelers increasingly visited Canada after 2000, accounting for just around a quarter of the visiting population in 2020.
With respect to the downward trend, although adults used to make up one fifth of the visitors in 2000, the number of traveling adults declined to merely above one tenth, becoming the smallest traveling age group. Similarly, despite the half constitution of the adult population, the proportion decreased to just above one third, maintaining its position as the largest group.
