The diagrams illustrate compare the number of energy capacity in gigawatts in the 2012 year with the predictions by the year 2030.
Overall, predictions of energy capacity will be quite vast in gigawatts than in the past. It can be clearly seen that whereas the capacity will experience increase of the solar, flexible capacity and the wind, there will be also decreased in areas such as the nuclear, fossil fuels and other renewables.
For instance, the number of GW in the 2012 is 5.579, while in the 2030 it will jumped to 10.569 gigawatts. In addition, in the 2030 the fossil fuels will decrease gradually from 64 % to 44 %, meanwhile the nuclear and other renewables will fell slightly for 1 % and for 3 %, respectively. On the contrary, solar will soared from 2 % to 18 % during the time period, and the wind will rise from 5 % to 12 %. Also, the flexible capacity will show a small rise for only 1 % in the future predictions.
