North America and Europe recorded the highest use of water on industry by 48% and 53% respectively. While Agriculture takes a small proportion by 32% in Europe and 39% in North America, whilst household use is relatively modest, making up around 13-15%.
In contrast, water consumption in Central Asia , South East and South America are overwhelmingly Agricultural, thus taking the highest proportions by 88%, 81% and 71% respectively. In these regions, industrial use is minimal, ranging from 5% to 12%, and domestic use remains under 10%.
Unlike South America, which heavily relies on agriculture however, has a higher share of water by 88%.
