This report will describe two pie charts showing the electricity usage in France and Germany in various sources in 2009.
At first glance, it becomes clear that Germany generated more electricity than France, mostly on conventional thermal, while it was mostly nuclear type for France.
Germany shared only 17.4% on renewable type of electricity and a large number (approximately 60%) on conventional thermal source, while this number was about five times less in France foe conventional thermal and 13.7% for renewable type of generation.France mostly gained electricity from nuclear source, with 76%, while it was merely 23% in Germany.
Biomass and wind energy had the most percentages in renewable type of source in Germany, with 39.3% and 36.9%, respectively. However, France generated more power from hydroelectric with nearly 80% and a negligible percentage for the three other sources.
