Overall, we can see that staying with family and friends was the most popular option throught the years. In addtion to that, rented aparments and hotels saw an increase in the given period.
Staying with relatives and beloved ones stood at around 52% in 1988 and 1998. although this figure experienced a drop by about 10% in the 10 following years, it remined the highest portion compared with others. Camping’s figure was at just above the quarter in 1988. Afterwards, its share dropped significantly to the halve in 1998 and 2008.
The hotels’ share in 1988 was at 15%, which is almost the double of the rented aparments’ figure in the same year. It increased to around 22% in 1998 and remaind constant until the end of the period ,Whilst rented aparments percentage rose steadily in this period, and reached the same level as Hotels in 1998.
