The plans illustrate the changes made to the ground of a building across three different time phases, from 1958, until present.
Overall, the building has changed from a predominantly working area in 1984 to a residential accommodation in 1985, and finally to a flower shop in 2001 onwards. Numerous modifications regarding the position and function of each room can be witnessed throughout the period.
Regarding the conversion of the workplace into the residential area, all of the rooms had changed their functions, with the exception of the kitchen. It can be seen that the manager office and the reception area were reconfigured to accommodate two different bedrooms. Additionally, the toilet had been extended to become the bathroom and shower, whereas the meeting room and staff’s offices had been merged into a spacious living room.
Looking at the renovation of the apartment into a flower shop, the kitchen was still retained in its original position, indicating its consistent utility across all three phases. Also, the living room and the bathroom have been removed to be replaced by designated areas for gift cards and a play area, with a flower display area positioned between these two sections. The two bedrooms have been replaced by an office and additional flower display area, effectively converting the living space into a commercial flower retail environment.
