The plans compare the layout of a college cafe before and how it looks now after it was redesigned. Overall, following the redesign, the cafe was modernized and food types were separated into several zones. Notably, customers can now enjoy their meals outside the cafe as well.
Before the cafe was redesigned, it consisted of a few basic features. The kitchen was located on the top left side of the plan, and an area of service for all kinds of food and drinks was placed relatively close to it. In the centre of the main hall, tables and chairs can be found. Similarly, two dining rooms for staff can be seen in the middle of the plan. The bin and toilets were at the bottom, located near each other.
Since then, the cafe has undergone a significant transformation. Although the kitchen was not subject to change, the serving area for all types of dishes and drinks was replaced with one for only hot meals. One of the staff dining rooms was turned into a takeaway food service area, and the other into a coffee bar. Despite the fact that the tables, chairs, and toilets remained unchanged, the bins were changed to recycling ones. Moreover, a salad bar was introduced in the left-hand section. The most notable change, however, has been the addition of outdoor seating and barbecue outside the cafe.
