The maps illustrate the developments that took place in the museum between 1957 and 2007. Overall, the museum witnessed a drastic transformation over the period shown, becoming noticeably less green and more built-up.
In 1957, there were only three rooms in the museum, including national history exhibition, local history room and museum storeroom located to the right side of the map. Additionally, a garden was situated in the northwest corner of the museum. There was a road to the south, leading to an entrance hall.
By 2007, significant changes had occurred in the museum. The trees in the southeast corner were cut down in order to make a way for the new construction of a car park. The local history room was relocated in place of the national history exhibition. Moreover, the museum storeroom was converted into a café. Adjacent to the café, a reception area was erected in place of the entrance hall. Nearby, a new museum shop was built in the center of the building. Furthermore, a new special exhibitions and education center were constructed in the northeast of the museum. However, the garden remained unchanged throughout the given period.
