The layout illustrates how a small local museum and its surrounding area changed between 1957 and 2007.
Overall, the building underwent substantial modifications in both its internal layout and outdoor environment. The most noticeable transformations include the introduction of new visitor facilities and the notable removal of garden space.
In 1957, the museum featured a straight forward layout, surrounded by a large garden. It was located to the center of the area, with a curved path running from the road to the entrance. Inside, the building had three main rooms. The largest was a national history exhibition at the rear of the museum, while a local history room was located on the left side and a museum storeroom was on the right.
By 2007, the museum had been expanded and modernized. The entrance was moved to the west, and the curved pathway was eliminated. A shop and a new reception area were introduced, along with additional facilities such as a café, special exhibition rooms, and an education centre. The local history room was enlarged and relocated to the centre, replacing the former national history exhibition. Externally, a large part of the southern garden was replaced with a car park, although some green space remained in the northwest corner.
